The heavy rainfall and gusty wind that swept through the area Thursday into Friday not only led to flooding and some power outages, but signaled a big change in the weather pattern.

That's because the moisture from Tropical Storm Michael that moved up from the south collided with a cold front from the north.

As a result, get set for the coldest night since April.

Lows will fall into the mid-30s overnight Saturday into Sunday across the interior, where frost advisories have been issued.

Those advisories are in effect for some parts of the region, including Putnam, Orange and Northern Fairfield counties from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.

Patchy frost will form around 3 a.m. in those areas on an otherwise mostly cloudy overnight, the National Weather Service says.

Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and plants should be protected.

The areas of frost will remain until around the end of the advisory period.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high in the upper-50s.
